Compare a state/jurisdiction's mathematics score to that of other states/jurisdictions in 2017

States/jurisdictions are grouped in relation to whether they scored higher than, not significantly different from, or lower than the selected focal state/jurisdiction.   • 10 states scored lower, and
  • 41 states/jurisdictions showed no significant change in scores.

Examine the magnitude of score changes

To view score changes for fourth-grade public school students in mathematics between 2017 and previous assessment years, use the drop-down menu to select a comparison year. The results will show the size of the score change between 2017 and the selected comparison year for each state/jurisdiction. To see whether the score change in one state/jurisdiction is statistically different from the change in another state/jurisdiction, use the NAEP State Profiles Tool.
