Trend in eighth-grade NAEP writing achievement-level results, by race/ethnicity
Findings
- The percentages of White, Black, and Hispanic students performing at or above Basic were higher in 2007 than in both previous assessments. The percentage of Asian/Pacific Islander students performing at or above Basic was higher in 2007 than in 2002.
- The percentages of White and Black students performing at or above Proficient were higher in 2007 than in both previous assessments. The percentage of Hispanic students performing at or above Proficient was higher than in 1998.
