Among 2009 graduates who completed a standard curriculum but did not attain a midlevel curriculum, 65 to 92 percent were missing required coursework in only a single subject area needed to attain a midlevel curriculum. A greater percentage of Black and Hispanic than White graduates in 2009 lacked only science.
Among all racial/ethnic groups, between 8 percent and 35 percent of 2009 graduates completing a standard curriculum lacked multiple requirements needed to attain a midlevel curriculum. Fewer Black than White graduates were missing only the mathematics requirement.
