Lower-performing students make gains at all three grades

Fourth-grade NAEP U.S. history percentile scores

Findings

  • Scores were higher in 2006 than in 1994 for lower- and middle-performing students.
  • There were no significant changes in the scores in 2006 for higher-performing students when compared to either 1994 or 2001.
