Trend in average scores for fourth-grade public school students in NAEP mathematics, by jurisdiction

Findings
- Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, the District of Columbia, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, and San Diego had higher average scores in 2007 than in 2003. No districts had lower scores in 2007 than in 2003.
- Atlanta, Boston, the District of Columbia, and New York City had higher average scores in 2007 than in 2005. Cleveland had a lower average score in 2007 than in 2005.
1 Austin did not participate in 2003.
