Classroom Context: Civics Topics

As part of the 2010 civics assessment, fourth-, eighth-, and twelfth-graders were asked about the types of civics topics they studied. The figures below provide the percentages of students who responded that they had studied civics topics within each category shown.

In 2010, more than 50 percent of fourth-graders reported studying about their community, the President and leaders of their country, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens.
