In the eighth grade, 21 percent of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch through the National School Lunch Program used a computer to learn and practice vocabulary every day or almost every day, with 29 percent doing so once or twice a week. The percentage for every day or almost every day was higher than in 2009 and the percentage for once or twice a week was not significantly different from 2009.

In addition, in both 2009 and 2011, the percentages of eligible students using a computer to learn vocabulary every day or almost every day and once or twice a week were higher than the respective percentages for their non-eligible peers.
