In 2009, the percentage of graduates completing AP U.S. history courses in large cities was higher than in other locations. However, the percentage of graduates who completed an AP U.S. history course in other locations in 2009 was higher than in 2000.

NOTE: Large cities are defined as those cities with a population of 250,000 or more. Other school locations include suburb, town, and rural locations. Comparisons to 1990 and by more specific types of location were not possible because of changes in how school
locations were classified.
