How time is spent during testing

This animation shows how fourth-graders spent the 30-minute assessment time while reading the story Five Boiled Eggs and responding to questions about it.

• The dots in the animation represent a sample of 600 randomly selected students.
• The movement of the dots illustrates what each student was working on at a given time, e.g., viewing a page of the passage or answering a particular question.
• The assessment begins with all students on Page 1 of the passage and ends with the Review page.
