NOTE: The numbers of schools are rounded to the nearest ten, and the numbers of students are rounded to the nearest hundred. Substitutions of reserve schools for initially sampled schools were not needed in 2007 because school participation rates were high. Alaska, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Nebraska, Oregon, and South Dakota did not participate in the 2007 NAEP writing assessment, but they were included in the nationally representative sample. Detail may not sum to totals because of rounding.
