Classroom Context: History Resources

As part of the 2010 U.S. history assessment, eighth-grade teachers were asked about the extent to which they used various resources when teaching history. The percentage of students whose teachers responded in each category are shown below.

Grade 12

Most eighth-graders had teachers who reported using quantitative data (98 percent) and primary documents (91 percent) on at least a monthly basis to teach U.S. history.
