Years of teaching experience

As part of the 2006 U.S. history assessment, teachers of eighth-grade students were asked the following two questions about their years of experience. Below is the full text of the questions and the percentage of students whose teachers responded within the selected year ranges combined from their open-ended responses.

Counting this year, how many years have you worked as an elementary or secondary teacher? If less than 4 months total experience, enter "00."

Counting this year, how many years have you taught history, civics, or social studies in grades 6 through 12? If less than 4 months total experience, enter "00."
