Average mathematics scores for Black students were higher in 9 out of 10 participating districts in 2009 as compared to 2003. Hispanic students saw gains in 6 out of 10 districts, while White students and Asian/Pacific Islander students saw gains in 4 out of 10 districts and 5 out of 10 districts respectively compared to 2003.
