Average score for first-ever NAEP economics assessment set at 150

Average 12th-grade NAEP economics score and percentile scores: 2006

Findings 

  • While the average 12th-grade score for the NAEP 2006 economics assessment was set at 150, scores ranged from 104 for the lowest performing students (10th percentile) to 191 for the highest-performing students (90th percentile).
  • Twenty-five percent of students had a score at or below 129.
  • Seventy-five percent of students had a score at or below 174.
